Turona Archaeological and Naturalistic Park

Bolsena is a city rich in art and history but much of its charm is given by the suggestive natural environment in which it is immersed. Among the most evocative places to admire in Bolsena is the Archaeological Naturalistic Park of Turona. Located just 5 km from the town, it enchants and fascinates those who visit it for its hilly aspect typical of the Vulsini Mountains. Groves, streams, hundreds of plants and flowers: a small corner of paradise in which to walk in total and absolute relaxation. To crown the view of the splendid grove there are small waterfalls that delimit the perimeter of the park which make the atmosphere even more suggestive. The Archaeological Naturalistic Park of Turona is a place rich in traces of the past, here numerous Etruscan tombs have been found, but also the remains of an ancient temple and an inhabited village.A path in the woods that winds for over 3 km of ups and downs , a path between nature and the history of this fascinating and mysterious land, perfect for those who love nature and discovery. Many of the artifacts found inside this park-site are now exhibited at the Territorial Museum of Bolsena in the Monaldeschi della Cervara fortress. Along the path, however, ancient mills of great architectural value dating back to the fourteenth century are still clearly visible, which were used by the inhabitants of the district, including the more distant communities of Marta and Capodimonte.
