The climate on Lake Bolsena is generally mild and temperate. Compared to the hinterland, the summers are less sultry and the winters less rigid. There are rarely periods with strong winds from the north. This makes the lake area a valid choice in all seasons, the same is true for the climate in the neighboring villages which are strongly influenced from the climatic point of view by its presence. Depending on the ventilation present, the intensity of the stormy perturbations also changes. Some areas close to the Volsini mountains, which surround the perimeter of the lake, can also occur in winter localized snowfalls or a greater presence of fog banks. In general, the climate of Lake Bolsena is typically Mediterranean with pleasant temperatures and light breezes.
