Trakking

The area surrounding Lake Bolsena is one of the most popular places for trekking enthusiasts. Long walks in the middle of the unspoiled nature offered by the parks and reserves that surround the largest volcanic basin in Europe, through which you reach the picturesque villages that surround it. Among the most interesting routes to be carried out at Lake Bolsena we suggest the “A Pilgrims’ Way“. It is a beautiful walking tour that starts from the historic center of Bolsena and continues through woods, fields, paths and dirt roads until you reach the Torre del Pellegrino in the ancient fortress of the Rocca dei Papi in Montefiascone. About 20 km of walk between nature and history, for some stretches you cross the Via Francigena which for centuries has connected southern Europe with that of the north. A demanding journey, the effort of which will be rewarded by the wonderful landscape views of the lake. Another interesting route to be made on foot is that of the brigantics’ path which winds along paths in the middle of the woods and in the open countryside which for centuries have been the escape routes for the infamous brigands. You can do the various itineraries alone, in a group and with the help of a guide.
