Piazza Europa

Piazza Europa

Piazza Europa is the urban and social hub of the small village of San Lorenzo Nuovo. It is a particular square designed by the architect Francesco Navone in 1774 which is inspired by the famous Amalienborg opera in Copenhagen. Piazza Europa is the heart of the community of San Lorenzo Nuovo and also an incredible monumental space inside which the beautiful church of San Lorenzo Martire overlooks. All around this place there is an orderly network of roads that gives a particularly harmonious aspect to this village. Piazza Europa is also the protagonist of some of the most important and characteristic events of this country such as the historic traditional market but also the very good village festival dedicated to gnocchi which takes place every year in August.
