Located in the heart of the historic center of the medieval village of Grotte di Castro is the Grande fountain. An important hydraulic architecture built in the 19th century. The structure is located in Piazza Cardinale Carlo Salotti, and dominates the district with its monumental aspect. Fontana Grande is counted among the beauties of the town, its value is immense both because of its structure but also because it testifies to a great goal achieved by the local community: the introduction of the first aqueduct that supplied the village with drinking water. This beautiful fountain enjoys a particular charm, given both by the particular shape and by the material with which it is built, which gives it an antique and modern look at the same time.
